Grab a Flannel: The Kardashians Prove Grunge Is Back

The '90s are having a fashion moment, with Khloe, Kim and Kylie leaving their gowns and heels behind and rocking plaid shirts around their waists instead

Those of us who remember walking around school with flannel shirts tied around our waists, singing along to Nirvana on our Discmans, might find it mind-blowing, but it's true: The grunge look is back.

Want incontrovertible evidence? Khloe Kardashian Instagrammed a picture of herself on Wednesday in which she's tied a plaid shirt around her waist and is rocking work boots in place of Giuseppe Zanottis. But she's not the only family member trying the trend. Older sister Kim also recently circled a flannel shirt around her (rapidly growing) middle, while baby sis Kylie wore what might just be the very same flannel as Khloe's when heading to a Rihanna concert earlier in the month.

Don't think this revival stops with celebs. Online emporium Nasty Gal, for example, is bringing the trend to the masses, hawking items like the (aptly named) 'No Way' top, a red plaid concoction with crisscross vegan leather straps in the back that "looks rad paired with cutoffs and combat boots." So grab an old flannel and come as you are — or as you were in junior high school.
