BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector.

If you have a problem controlling oil on your face, listen up. BECCA has just launched this Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector and it will be the answer you have been looking for. This priming perfector provides 8 hours of shine free coverage.

Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector is a silicone-free primer that creates an invisible veil to perfect the face as it minimizes pores and adds a matte look to even the most oily skins. The lightweight formula is made with EverMat™, which reduces oil production in the first place. It does this by attracting and capturing oil in the skin so the result is long-lasting matte skin. And it pretty much makes pores look invisible, which is usually a problem for those with oily skin.

You can use this primer alone, before or after applying makeup. How about that? If you are just oily in the t-zone, apply this over your foundation to absorb the oil and give that area a matte finish. You'll be amazed at how your skin will stay shine free all day.

BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector is available at Sephora now. It retails for $36.00.

Would You Pay $91,500 for a T-Shirt?

Hermes offers the crocodile and chiffon garment that costs as much as a house

By Alesandra Dubin - March 26, 2013

Looking for a way to burn through a whole boatload of money in one fell swoop? Try the world's most expensive T-shirt on for size.

The product of luxury French design house Hermès, the men's tee is comprised of crocodile skin and chiffon. And it carries a price tag of $91,500 — or the cost of a starter home in many places around the country.

Of course, you'd need to shell out a cool $100,000 if you want to actually take it home, once you consider sales tax, notes the Awl. That would tack on another $8,000 in a place like New York City, where the item is available.

Take a minute to let that sink in.

It's hardly the first time a designer has pulled an outrageous pricing stunt — and we think it's fair to call it just that. The Olsen twins recently offered a $55,000 backpack inspired by the artist Damien Hirst, and Jil Sander actually sold out of a $290 paper bag, Business Insider reports.

If you're like us, you're sitting here imagining all the things you'd buy instead of a shirt with that much cash — your kid's entire college education, or new cars for every driver in your family, for instance.

So let's hear from you in the comments: What do you think of Hermès' $91,500 t-shirt?

Looking for more — ahem — accessible price points? Read on to find a great spring jacket for less than $26, and cute flats starting at $21.

Friday Finds: February 22, 2013.

I cannot believe that this is the last Friday in February. How is this year flying by so fast already? Though I am on vacation, I have still been discovering some great new beauties. This week is all about the new makeup palettes that I have found recently. Palettes are where you get the most bang for your buck. With single products costing $20+, getting multiples in a palette, is often the best way to go.

1. NARS The Happening Palette - $65.00
This must have palette has it all - including the must have best selling Orgasm Blush and Laguna Bronzer - plus four very wearable eye shadow colors. The shades include a sheer peach with gold shimmer, a shimmering taupe, boysenberry (a beautiful lilac) infused with gold, and a deep taupe brown infused with gold.

2. Laura Mercier Arabesque Baked Eye Color Palette - $48.00
Laura's baked eye shadows are some of the best. This beautiful new shadow palette contains five gorgeous spring shades that can be worn wet for more intense color, or dry for soft shading. The palette includes: Champagne, Sepia, Mink, Malt and Sterling.

3. Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Collection - $36.00
For soft and smoky, sexy eyes, this collection of nine shadows cannot be beat. From a light and shimmering champagne to a super sexy shimmery gray, bedroom eye looks are endless. Too Faced shadows are very soft and silky, plus very long lasting. I have a few of the shadow palettes and am thrilled with this new addition to my collection.

4. Dior Sweet Chérie Pinks Eye & Lip Palette - $59.00
A spring pink look is easy with the eye and lip products in this gorgeous pink palette.  The four shadows in beautiful, soft shades of pink and gray pair nicely with the pink lip shades. For lips you get a lip balm to soften lips and use as a base, a lipstick and two lip glosses. It doesn't get any sweeter.

5. Bobbi Brown Bellini Lip & Eye Palette - $75.00
Bobbi thought of just about every eye look when she put together this beautiful palette. With ten shadows that range from a bare base shade, an almost black shade perfect for lining eyes, and everything in between, this one will get a lot of use. The four beautiful lip glosses complete any look you create. The shadows are super soft and range in textures from matte, to shimmery and intense.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer.

I love discovering new brands and their products. I've known about Hourglass Cosmetics for quite some time, but never had the opportunity to try any of their products. After hearing about so many celebrities wearing Hourglass top events, I knew this was a line I had to check out. I can't think of a better way to check out the line than with one of their best sellers, the Veil Mineral Primer.

Veil Mineral Primer is said to "neutralize redness, minimize the appearance of pores, help soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles and repel water to ensure makeup appears fresh all day long."

This primer is elegant upon first look. It comes housed in a beautiful frosted glass bottle with a bronzed colored cap that covers an airtight pump.

The primer itself feels very liquid, and not like most primers as it is pumped out. But as it applies, it starts to get that silicone-ish powdery type of feel to it as it seems to blur the skin and make it look simply beautiful. I love the silky feel and how it makes my foundation apply effortlessly and very even. Imperfections and fine lines are definitely burred. It also helps to make my foundation, and entire makeup, look great all day as it helps it last longer than without primer.

It is important to note that this also contains an SPF of 15 which is great for additional sun protection. It is a physical sunscreen, which is the type of sunscreen that reflects the sun off the skin, so I wouldn't wear this if I knew I would be having my picture taken.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer comes in two sizes; 10 ml. for $18.00 or 30 ml for $52.00. You can purchase online at HourglassCosmetics.com or in Sephora.

My Favorite Oscars® Looks.

My favorites from last nights Oscars® just happened to be ladies who were the two big winners of the night, Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway. Jennifer Lawrence won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role and Anne Hathaway won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

Jennifer Lawrence looked beautiful in her Dior gown. As the new face of Miss Dior, I figured she would be wearing a Dior gown and makeup - and she did.

image: celebutopia.net

Jennifer's hair was done with Dove Haircare products and COVERGIRL Nail Gloss was on her nails. I love the balance of luxury and mass market products. I have the complete "Get the Look" details here: Jennifer Lawrence at the Oscars® 2013.

Anne Hathaway got a lot of flack for her dress because of the placement of the darts. She made a last minute dress decision and scrapped her original gown, but I think she went with the right look and looked great in her pink Prada dress.

Anne's makeup was done with mostly CHANEL products, her hair was by Fekkai and her nails were done with a L’Oréal Paris nail color. Again, she wore a mix of luxury and mass that we can all relate to. You get all the "Get the Look" details here: Anne Hathaway at the Oscars® 2013.

Make It Lash: CHANEL Le Volume de Chanel Mascara.

CHANEL's Le Volume de Chanel Mascara is not only luxurious, it is simply wondrous.

The mascara is very thick and very black. The formula plumps the lashes super full and thick so lashes seem to almost multiply as it is applied. Lashes are lengthened as they take on a new life with the carbon black color.

The brush is like the best mix of a traditional feeling brush and the newer rubber tipped brushes. The bristles are shorter than normal mixed with some longer bristles, yet overall fuller than normal mascara brushes. It almost feels flocked. What it does do is make sure that each lash is coated with the wondrous formula.

Le Volume de Chanel Mascara is available at all Chanel counters and specialty stores now. It retails for $30.00.

The Ultimate Beauty Resource: the L’Oréal Paris NEW Website.

I am pretty much obsessed with the new L’Oréal Paris website. It is not your usual product site, because this website is so much more. It is all about you, your beauty and the site contains such a huge amount of helpful beauty information. It's the ultimate beauty resource.

As I first logged on, I immediately noticed my current weather. Weather? Yes, my weather with a very helpful product tip was at the top of the page. I could look out the window and know it was cloudy, but it told me how SPF is very important even on cloudy days. And guess what? I remembered to put on my sunscreen that day. I thought, it doesn't get more personalized than that, but it does.

The site features a "My Signature Beauty" service that is super customized. I entered the "My Beauty Picks" section to receive personalized products picks and very useful information. It only took a few minutes to fill out a little survey where I filled in things like my hair color, skin tone, eye color, skin care concerns, etc., and then the site became tailored just for me. Not only did it recommend products for me, it told me how to use them with expert beauty tips from L’Oréal Paris pro's. My perfect makeup look, skincare regimen and perfect shade of hair color were available - within seconds.

Beside getting the personalized beauty suggestions, there is an extensive "Beauty Library" that features a seemingly endless amount of beauty articles and videos that can be filtered by category. Whether it is information about hair care, skin care or makeup that you want; it is here. L’Oréal Paris teamed up with AOL to ensure that this section has up-to-the minute, trend-focused beauty information.

Another notable area of the site is the "Genius Tools & Consultations" feature. Here you will get expert advice from L’Oréal Paris’ roster of consulting beauty pros – including makeup artist Billy B., hair stylist Johnny Lavoy, dermatologist Dr. Gervaise Gerstner, nail expert Tom Bachik and hair colorist Christophe Robin. It is like having a top dermatologist, hair stylist and makeup artist at the ready.

The new L’Oréal Paris website is also the first major beauty site to provide optimal viewing across all devices. Forget those bare bones mobile sites, I am experiencing the same great site, tools and information whether I am on my desktop, laptop, iPad or mobile phone. How cool is that?

Check out the site now and play. The official address for you to easily remember is LOrealParisUSA.com. I know you will find it an ultimate beauty resource for a long time to come.

M∙A∙C Year of the Snake.

In case you haven't heard, the Chinese calendar says that 2013 is the Year of the Snake. Leave it to M·A·C to come up with a collection that embodies everything that this year represents. This is the Year of the Snake collection.

The snake-inspired collection is defined by a palette of vibrant shades and shimmering finishes. Beauty Powder illuminates the skin, eye shadow creates striking contrasts and pigments intensify the effect. Zoom Lash adds definition and Powerpoint Eye Pencil defines a razor-sharp line. Lipsticks quiver with lustre and M·A·C's exclusive packaging slithers with chic - featuring Beauty Powder, Lipsticks and Eye Shadows Embossed with a gorgeous snake design.

The collection:

LARGE EYE SHADOW - $21.00
Once Upon a Time… - Metallic vanilla (veluxe pearl)
Aztec Brick - Frosted true copper (veluxe pearl)
Altered State - Deep frosted blue purple (veluxe pearl)
Carbon - Intense black (matte)

PIGMENT - $21.00
Brash & Bold - Bright magenta
Push the Edge - Deep bright purple with pearl

LIPSTICK - $15.00
Freckletone - Neutral peach (lustre)
Plumful - Blossoming rose-plum (lustre)
Cockney - Sheer yellow red with multidimensional pearl (lustre)

BEAUTY POWDER - $24.00
Shell Pearl - Pale peach with gold pearl

POWERPOINT EYE PENCIL - $16.00
Engraved - Rich black

ZOOM LASH - $16.00
Zoomblack - Rich black

I love the intricate snake design that is embossed into the products.

I am thrilled that M·A·C brought back the Large Eye Shadow as I love the handy size. Even though I most often use shadow palettes, I love a larger single eye shadow, especially when they are made of shades that will get a lot of use. Once Upon a Time is a wonderful beautiful shimmery vanilla shade that is perfect as a base color, as is Carbon, the ultimate matte black that I like to use as an eye liner.

My favorite product in the collection has got to be the Shell Pearl Beauty Powder pictured above. It is simply beautiful on my skin. It is beautiful when wanting to add a bit of radiance all over the skin. To get this look, I take a large fluffy powder brush and apply it right over my foundation. I also love dusting it over my bronzer and blush to soften and highlight the look.

The M·A·C Year of the Snake collection is available at all M·A·C locations and online at maccosmetics.com now.

10 DIY Beauty Tips.

I just realized that there are a few little things that I do over and over in my beauty routine that are sort of "unconventional". I rather consider them to be creative or DIY. I thought I should finally write all of these DIY beauty tips out, so you can benefit from my methods.

My top 10 creative beauty tips:

Powder Your Roots with Translucent Loose Powder
If your hairline starts to look greasy, dig up a big fluffy makeup brush and dip it into a pot of translucent loose powder and brush it into your hair. The powder will instantly absorb all hair oil. Bonus - translucent powder matches all hair colors.

Shave with Conditioner Instead of Shaving Cream
Run out of shaving cream? Do double duty by coating your stems with a thick hair conditioner. It softens the hair so it’s easier to shave off and it makes legs feel amazingly silky.

Make an Egg White Face Mask
To revive tired and dull skin without hitting the spa, try this: Crack open an egg in a bowl, separate the yolk, and use the egg whites to make a face mask. The proteins help to heal and restore skin’s moisture. Leave it on for five minutes, rinse off and follow with toner and moisturizer.

Heat Up Your Eyelash Curler
If you have stick-straight lashes, try blasting your metal eyelash curler with a hair dryer for a couple seconds to heat it up so your lashes bend more easily. Be careful though, as the metal does heat up quick. When I say a few seconds, I mean it.

Spike Lotion with Bronzer
If you don’t have time for a self-tanning session, mix a few pumps of liquid bronzer with regular body lotion and rub it on your legs for a subtle dose of sexy, beachy color.

Soften Your Body with Avocado
Avocado is a natural moisturizer, so use it to your benefit. Take a ripe avocado, remove the pit and skin, and mash it up in a bowl. Slather the avocado all over your body, let it sit for 20 minutes, then rinse off and follow with your regular body lotion.

Amp Up Shine with Vinegar
Mix one part vinegar with four parts carbonated water, and pour the mixture over dry hair. Leave it on for 15 minutes then rinse out. Follow with shampoo to lock in shine and combat dullness.

Press a Tea Bag on Splotches
If you’re sensitive or just looking irritated or puffy for some reason, steep a bag of green tea for a minute or two, let it cool down and dab it over your face. The antioxidants in the tea take down inflammation. When my eyes are extra puffy, I wrap the hot tea bags in paper towels and let them sit on my closed eyes for 5 - 10 minutes.

Use Eye Makeup Remover to Remove Lip Stains or Dark Lipstick
Don’t try to rub off that lip stain or stubborn red lipstick. Instead take a cotton ball or tissue and dip it in makeup remover, and just dab to erase the dark stain fast.

Use Toothpaste on a Zit
Take a pea-size amount of white toothpaste, and place it over zits or red areas. Let it sit for 15 minutes to absorb the oil so the pimple won’t get more clogged, then wash it off.

Makeup Wars: Color of the Year Emerald Green.

Pantone officially declared Emerald Green as the color of the year. In case you wonder why you are seeing so many fashion items and accessories in green lately, this is why. While the makeup community might be a bit behind (except Sephora because they already have a Sephora + Pantone Universe Emerald Green Collection), many brands have quite a few green products in their regular line. These green products are quickly becoming popular; green nails and green smoky eye looks are popping up everywhere!

While I tried to concentrate on emerald green for my picks, I just couldn't find many products that fit the emerald green description. I like to think of my picks as "emerald-ish" green. When searching my stash, I quickly discovered that I have no emerald green nail polish - or even anything close to it. What I do have though, are quite a few green eye liners and green eye shadows. These are my favorites.

EMERALD GREEN EYE LINER

1. MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil - 16L Green
This pencil glides on with a medium yellow green sheen. It's very smooth and lasts until you take it off. $18.00

2. NYX Slide On Pencil - Esmeralda
This silky soft pencil applies very easily making eye lining easy. It feels more like a shadow crayon than a liner, actually. The color is a lighter emerald green with a bit of shine to it. $8.00

3. COVERGIRL Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliiner Pencil - Jade
This intense waterproof liquid pencil is an easy to apply and smudge eyeliner that has a built in smudger. The color is an emerald-teal shade of green. $9.99

4. Anastasia Covet Waterproof Eyeliner - Vert
This thin eyeliner is waterproof and pretty much budge-proof once you apply. Smudging is not really an option, so it has to be applied carefully. The color is a deep smoky moss green. $19.00

5. Clinique Quickliner for Eyes Intense - Intense Ivy
This quickliner is a very precise eyeliner that applies well and smudges easily with the built-in smudger. The shade is a real darkly pigmented ivy green, almost like a black green. $15.00

6. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil - Covet
The pencil formula is one of my favorites as it does just what says; it glides on like butter and lasts all day. In face, you need to use an eye makeup remover to get this long-lasting liner off. The shade is a beautiful emerald green with a bit of silver sheen to it. $19.00

7. MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Liner - 4 Diamond Lagoon Green
This is a waterproof liquid liner that applies easily with the precision brush. Like all of the Aqua products, this one goes on and stays on. The shade is a sparkling bright blue-ish green. $23.00

8. Laura Mercier Kohl Eye Pencil - Antique Jade
This kohl pencil offers a thicker tip and was actually formulated for lining the inner rims of the eyes. I use it as a regular liner and have used this color for years. Antique Jade is a dark, almost khaki green shade. $20.00

EMERALD GREEN EYE SHADOW

1. NARS Duo Eyeshadow - Misfit
As one of my favorite shadow formulas, this eye shadow is super silky, highly pigmented and very long wearing. The shades include an ecru shimmer and a true emerald green shimmer. $34.00

2. Sephora + Pantone Universe Color Theory Shadow Block - Bionic
This shadow trio contains three shades; a true emerald green and two complementary shades. The green actually looks beautiful with the white shimmer and bold blue, which I like to use as a liner. The formula is very silky and lasts all day. $26.00

3. MAKE UP FOR EVER Eye Shadow - 168 Iridescent Lagoon Green
This truly emerald green shade has a bit of soft emerald green shimmer to it. It's a super soft powder that applies beautifully. $20.00

4. Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour - Jungle
This creamy eye shadow applies like a dream. It goes on so easily, lasts all day and never creases. I love the different smoky effect this dark olive green gives. $24.00

5. L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow - Endless Sea
This super soft velvety formula glides onto lids and lasts through everything. Endless Sea is a pretty teal green with a jewel tone look to it. Not exactly emerald (they do have a golden emerald in the collection) but pretty enough and very wearable to be mentioned. $7.95

6. bareMinerals Prime Time Primer Shadow - Racing Green
Made to be an eye shadow primer to intensify a loose powder shadow look, I like to wear it alone. The creamy formula applies with fingertips and leaves a soft wash of color that adheres to the lid. Racing Green is a shimmery emerald green/gold shade. $12.00

7. Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow Super Shimmer - Peacock
This highly pigmented, soft shadow contains beautiful, subtle shimmer in a great soft emerald green shade. I wore this shade or another very similar Clinique shade when I got married. I am sure there was no super shimmer formula then, but the color I remember well. $15.00

8. bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0 - The Winner Is...
The mineral powder shadows are super silky and long lasting, not to mention good for you with the mineral infused formula. The duo contains Chart Topper, a shimmery gold and Hit Single, a shimmery light emerald green. $20.00

9. Laura Mercier Sateen Eye Colour - St. Germain
This luxurious sateen shadow looks like silk when applied, but feels almost creamy as it is applied. It is easy to blend as it wears well with no creasing all throughout the day. The shade is a light golden emerald green that looks different depending how the light catches it.

10. Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint - Mighty Moss
One of my new favorite shadow formulas in an easy to apply stick comes in this great jeweled dark green shade. The color payoff is soft, hence the tint name, yet beautifully colored and very long-lasting. $16.00

11. bareMinerals Eye Color - Oz
This long lasting, loose mineral powder formula can be applied wet or dry, depending upon the look you want. Oz is a vibrant emerald green. $14.00

12. MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Cream - 22 Emerald Green
This super pigmented, long-lasting formula offers a very rich, full on waterproof color. This a golden emerald green shade. $23.00

The New and Improved Root Touch-Up by Nice ‘n Easy.

It's been over a year since I had my hair color disaster and decided to only go to a professional for my hair coloring now. I go to the salon every six weeks now and my hair is all the better for it. Sadly, I am seeing a lot of gray at my temples and cannot make it two weeks without needing a touch up. I know I am not the only woman with this problem and there is help available. Clairol Root Touch-Up by Nice ‘n Easy is my favorite at-home touch up product and it has been my savior for many years.

I was thirlled to hear that Root Touch-Up had a little makeover. Not in the coloring products itself, becasue it is perfect just the way it is. This makeover has to do with the bowl and brush that comes with the product. It is definitely a change for the better.

The new Root Touch-Up kit comes complete with the Permanent Color Creme, the Color Activating Lotion, instructions, gloves, a bowl (tray) and brush. The new rounded tray is a sturdy, rounded oblong shaped bowl; similar to what the professionals use in the salon. It is much smaller, but it the right size to mix the hair color in work with. It sits on my bathroom counter perfeclty and dooesn't want to tip over like the old model. The new expert control brush seems to be a bit wider and has a handle that is easy to hold. I love that the opposite end of the brush is pointed to make hair separation (to get into the grays) easier.

I told my professional how I need to touch-up in between my appointments and he said that he highly recommends Root Touch-Up by Nice ‘n Easy to many clients with the same problem. He even suggested the shade Medium Blonde to me, and that is what I have always used. It's great to know that I got that right! Actually this shade is designed to match a variety of medium blonde shades - both at-home and professional brands. All of the 18 shades in the line up contain a unique blend of tones guaranteed to match and blend in with other shades.

Here is the proof.

My grays are gone in ten minutes. It literally takes me about two minutes to mix the hair color and then three minutes to apply it. I rinse it out after ten minutes, making the entire process 15 minutes. It's so easy! My grays are gone and the color blends in perfectly with my hair.

Next time you need a little touch-up, look for Root Touch-Up by Nice ‘n Easy at your favorite drugstore or mass retailer. The suggested retail price is $7.99, but I always seem to find it for $5.99, which seems to be the regular price at my local Target or the sale price at my CVS store. Can you tell I stock-up?

Friday Finds: March 1, 2013.

Happy March! I am so happy that winter is almost over. I will be thrilled when the first day of spring rolls around on the 20th. My skin is so dry. I have discovered a few new products that are really helping my skin overcome that super dry feeling. Mix that up with a few new makeup products that are taking me into spring and you have this weeks Friday's Finds. Enjoy the weekend!

1. Garnier Fructis Triple NutritionMiracle Dry Oil - $5.99
One product and a ton of uses. This dry oil that sprays onto skin or hair is like a miracle worker - especially on my legs. The dry oil soothes and moisturizes my skin as it instantly absorbs. It leaves my skin soft and supple; hair shiny. Bonus: it has a light citrus scent that smells so good.

2. Maybelline New York Color Sensational Vivids - $7.49
This shiny new lipstick leaves lips drenched in bright, vivid color and tons of shine. It almost looks vinyl. There are ten super saturated shades to chose from. I am loving Vivid Rose, a super bright shiny hot rosy pink.

3. Aveeno Skin Relief Healing Ointment - $7.99
This ointment is just what the doctor ordered. And really, my dermatologist recommended it for my chapped hands. It targets extremely dry, chafed or cracked areas that require ointment for extra protection. I slather the ointment over my hands (spread the extra on my knees and elbows) just as I turn in at night. My hands are finally feeling 'back to normal' soft.

4. L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara - $9.95
Designed to give natural lashes a lash extension look, this new mascara is helping my lashes look the longest they have been - ever. Long lashes are easy as two coats, and they will last all day with no flaking or smudging. (Did you hear about the #GetNoticed challenge?)

5. Talika Instant Manicure - $33.00
My nails and cuticles are even dry this winter and this little treatment is really helping them to be not so brittle. Just one packet of this effervescent powder in a bowl of warm water is a spa like treat that I am doing once a week. It smells so good and is just what I needed to get my cuticles back to their soft, non-peeling ways.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.

NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer is one of my favorite products. I think it launched last year around this time, and I am on my second tube already. It is just one of those holy grail products that covers my skin and makes it look radiant - just as intended. Well, NARS has a new product that goes right along with it, the Radiant Creamy Concealer. I bet I'll be on my second or maybe even third tube of this one next year at this time too.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

This concealer is not just for undereye circles, it is designed to be used anywhere you need a little cover up or evening out too. It is very easy to blend and it's buildable to get custom coverage. Just a dab of the sponge-tipped wand under my eyes and a little blending is all I need for my dark circles. On age spots, I dab and blend and dab and blend, until get the exact coverage I need there.

My favorite thing about this concealer is that it is - like the name implies - very creamy. This means it never cakes or creases or settles into my lines and wrinkles around my eyes.

Another way that I like to use the Radiant Creamy Concealer is to apply it on the tops of my cheekbones as a creamy, no shimmer highlighter. The color that I am using is Vanilla, which is just a tad lighter than my foundation, with a little pink undertone to it. It just makes my cheeks look radiant and pop.

Radiant Creamy Concealer comes in ten shades:

CHANTILLY: True ivory shade for fairest complexionsVANILLA: Tiny cast of pink for the fair complexion HONEY: Warm peach tone for light to medium complexionCUSTARD: Yellow tone for light to medium complexionGINGER: Golden undertone for medium complexionBISCUIT: Medium dark natural balance of pink and yellow undertones CARAMEL: Medium dark yellow and golden undertonesAMANDE: Medium dark with golden olive undertonesCAFÉ: Dark shade with warm red undertonesCACAO: Dark shade with deep gold-brown undertones

NARS Lead Stylist Jenny Smith has a how to video where she demonstrates how to perfect your complexion using new Radiant Creamy Concealer and my other new NARS fave, the Light Reflecting Setting Powder (she uses the Loose Powder).

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer retails for $28.00. Pick up it up at NARS counters, Sephora and online at narscosmetics.com.

Photoshop in a Tube: L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Miracle Blur.

Browse through your favorite magazine and look at one of the celebrities or models in it. You know how lines and wrinkles are blurred and an overall look is softened? Well, that is done with digital retouching. It's no secret. Wouldn't you love to be to walk around and look like your were professionally retouched? I know I do. And I have found something that does just that. It's one of L’Oréal Paris' latest launches and it is called Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother Finishing Cream. It's like Photoshop in a Tube.

L’Oréal Paris Miracle Blur

Miracle Blur utilizes new Opti-Blur Technology to diffuse light in millions of directions to instantly erase the look of lines, wrinkles and pores. It feels like a thick primer and it is formulated with Silica, so it also absorbs and disperses skin’s natural oils so skin looks matte, with a soft blurred finish.

Now, this is not particularly primer. It is called a Finishing Cream and it is meant to be used as the last step in skin care. After testing Miracle Blur and feeling the primer-like feel, I put it on my makeup vanity. I was wrong. It needs a few minutes to settle into skin and stop feeling tacky, so it's now in my bathroom where I keep and do my skin care routine. It is my final step after my moisturizer every morning.

I have a difficult time with daytime moisturizers and sunscreen, so I love that Miracle Blur also contains an SPF of 30. It's great not to need to use an additional sunscreen anymore as this takes care of two things (well, really a lot of things) at once.

Though Miracle Blur fills in my lines and wrinkles and gives my skin a soft feel, I don't notice it making my makeup last any longer. I still use primer immediately before I put on my makeup. I guess that is why it is not called a primer and it emphasised being a skin care product.

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother Finishing Cream sells for $24.99 and is available at drugstores and mass retailers now. Don't let the higher mass product price turn you off. It is worth this price and then some. It its honestly a product I would expect to pay $50+ for at the department store.

Skin in Need of a Quick Fix? M∙A∙C FIX+ to the Rescue.

If you are like me and notice your skin (particularly my face) getting drier or tighter as the day goes on, you probably wonder what you can do for a quick pick me. Now I am talking a full face of makeup on - not something you really can mess with moisture wise.

When I was at the M·A·C store last week, I presented this very question to my artist. He suggested FIX+ for a "quick fix". FIX+ is a very lightweight moisture mist in a spray bottle. Infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, with a super fresh and calming scent, it adds hydation and radiance to the skin.

It is very simple to use - with or without makeup. All you do is hold the bottle about 12 inches from you face, and spray a few mists over it. Voila! Instant refreshment; my skin feels so much better for it. It dries nice and quick too.

I have used it in the mid-afternoon the last few days, and it not only made my skin feel fresher, it made my face look much fresher as well.

FIX+ is just $15 and deserves a spot in your handbag. Pick it up at all M·A·C locations or online at maccosmetics.com.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Collection.

Some major anti-aging concerns of mine include dark spots, sagging and uneven lackluster skin tone. I know these are things that I obsess about every day when I look in the mirror. Maybelline New York takes on dark spots, sagging skin and dullness with three steps and three new products. They are all part of the Instant Age Rewind Collection and include Eraser Dark Spot Concealer + Treatment, The Lifter Foundation, and The Perfector Powder. Using all three together almost guarantees better and younger looking skin.

Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Spot Concealer + Treatment - $9.99
This concealer with Vitamin C treatment in one not only covers dark spots instantly, but the formula works to diminish them over time. The sponge tip applicator deposits the pigments to cover the spot and even skin tone immediately. It is very concentrated so you only need a little bit. Dab it on carefully and then blend it out with your fingertip. It conceals and really lasts. It is available in five shades to blend into a variety of skin tones.

Instant Age Rewind The Lifter Foundation - $13.99
A lifting foundation swirled with a smoothing primer in once easy to use pump for instantly, smoother, better looking skin. The glycerin based formula glides over fine lines and wrinkles while the peptides fuse to skin giving your face a lifted look. It's available in a nice range of 12 shades to match a nice array of skin tones.

Instant Age Rewind The Perfector Powder - $9.99
As a final step in makeup, this primer infused powder softens lines more, making for younger looking skin immediately. The skin perfecting powder is formulated with shea butter and jojoba to smooth skin with its unique micro-pearls. Skin feels soft and looks almost blurred with a bit of radiance. This is available in six shades to blend into every skin tone.

Shop for the new Maybelline Instant Age Rewind products at your favorite drugstore or mass retailer now. I highly suggest using all three together to get the optimal look.

Adding Mario Badescu Serums to My Skin Care Routine.

I started using a Mario Badescu Skin Care routine earlier this year. One thing lacking in my original routine was a serum. I am happy to report that I have added two Mario Badescu serums to my regimen and I am really happy with them. I am using one in the morning and one at night; my skin is thanking me for it.

Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Emulsion with Vitamin C - $30.00
Formulated with a concentrated blend of Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid and the antioxidant Vitamin C, this milky serum is plumping up my lines and making my skin appear overall brighter the more I use it. I am using a few drops of this after toning and blend it over my skin. It doesn't feel like a typical serum, as it feels more like a light moisturizer and I really like the feel of the added hydration on my skin. I have added this to my morning routine.

Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum - $45.00
This Vitamin C Serum is a powerhouse serum with a good amount of the antioxidant Vitamin C. In fact, it contains 7.5% Absorbic Acid (Vitamin C) to help reduce discolorations such as age spots and hyperpigmentation. Because it is very strong, I am using it as recommended, which is every other evening. Since I have begun using this serum, I am noticing a huge even-ness and brightness to my skin tone.

Check out all of the Mario Badescu products online at mariobadescu.com.

Spring 2013: MAKE UP FOR EVER Technicolor Palette.

With spring comes brighter, bolder shades of color. I am so ready for it. MAKE UP FOR EVER is taking on this trend in their own way with their latest, the Technicolor Palette.

MUFE creator Dany Sanz looked at the 1930's cinematic transition from black and white to color imagery for this highly pigmented palette. She even used the same technique employed by filmmakers as she over-saturated her shadow colors to make them appear more alive. And they sure do.

The palette contains three, bright statement colors along with five, easy to wear classic shades, making this palette totally wearable. The palette includes Apple Green, Turquoise, Lilac, Black, White, Espresso, Beige and what Dany is calling the spring "it shade", Yellow.

The MAKE UP FOR EVER Technicolor Palette retails for $45 and is available at Sephora.

Make It Lash: PREVAGE Clinical Lash + Brow Enhancing Serum.

In my quest for bigger and better lashes, I just put Elizabeth Arden's PREVAGE Clinical Lash & Brow Enhancing Serum to the test. The newest addition to the PREVAGE family, this serum treats lash (and brow) breakage and brittleness.

PREVAGE Clinical Lash + Brow Enhancing Serum supports and enhances the look of lashes at all three stages of their life cycle. It provides key ingredients and conditioners to help maintain the healthiest looking lashes. Not only that, this serum actually helps to shield lashes from future damage.

Developed in partnership with the world renowned Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute, this serum is clinically proven and both dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested. It is fragrance and colorant free, so it does not irritate even the most sensitive of eyes.

To say I am surprised by this serum is an understatement. I'm surprised, because I didn't expect to give it a review for another few weeks, at least. I have only been using this serum for just over two weeks. As I have been using lash enhancing products on the regular too, I wasn't even sure if I would notice that much of a difference. But I did. And fast. I am not sure if I just happen to be in the cycle of my lashes where they are at their strongest, but my lashes are more full and longer than they have been. I have also been using it on my thinning and ever so weird brows, and I am seeing better looking brows already too. They are thicker for sure, and softer, which is great, as I have certainly noticed my brow hairs thicker and wiry lately.

PREVAGE Clinical Lash + Brow Enhancing Serum sells for $98.00 and is available at Elizabeth Arden counters and online at ElizabethArden.com.

Friday Finds: March 8, 2013.

new spring makeup

Hope you had a great week. Mine has been pretty low key. I had my wisdom teeth out last Friday so I've been taking it easy and eating a lot of ice cream - yum! Because I've had so much extra time on my hands, I have been playing with a lot of new makeup and trying out some looks. Here are a few of the new makeup discoveries that I made in the process.

1. & 2. COVERGIRL LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Apricot Twist (1) & Haute Pink Twist (2) - $8.49
I really like this new Jumbo Gloss Balm in the shade I have, Ballet Twist, so I decided to buy a few more with more color. These large sticks of color are fortified with Shea and Mango butters to keeps lips moisturized as they are softly colored. I bought Apricot Twist & Haute Pink Twist. Apricot Twist is a soft peachy rose shade that I have found myself wearing almost everyday. It is that perfect "natural lip but better" looking shade. Haute Pink Twist is another shade that is getting me out of my natural lip shade This is a really hot pink, but wearable because of the formula.

3. Benefit Cosmetics Creaseless Cream Shadow in Skinny Jeans - $20.00
This creamy long-wearing shadow is not only a great cream shadow, I am loving the color Skinny Jeans. This shade is a beautiful soft metallic taupe. I love using it all over my lid as a base color and then layer a darker powder in the crease and a highlighter on my brow bone. It's like an instant sexy and super easy eye.

4. L'Oreal Infallible The Super Slim 12H Liquid Eyeliner - $8.95
This long wearing black liner comes in a felt-tip for great control. What I really love about this one is that it is a thinner felt tip than what I am used to. It allows for a very precise line. And of course, I love how this one lasts. I've seen perfect results past the 12 hour mark. Really - this liner doesn't come off until you purposely take it off.

5. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Lilac Rose - $42.00
I haven't purchased a new Shimmer Brick in quite some time, but as soon as I saw this new limited edition beauty with Bobbi's spring shades, I had to buy it. With strips of bright pink, golden pink, and icy pink pearl pigments I was instantly smitten. The color it leaves on my cheeks is so beautifully soft and shimmering in these shades of pink that look beautiful on my skin. It's perfect for all skin tones and a must for a spring face.

COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation.

Have you ever spent a lot of time on your makeup, left the house looking flawless only to look in the mirror a few hours later and notice your makeup has almost disappeared? It's happened to me on too many occasions. That is why I am constantly on the search for great, long-lasting makeup products, specifically foundation. I am thrilled to report that I just found a great one in the new COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation.

Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation combines everything I want in a foundation to make it a staple in my makeup bag.

It comes in very upscale glass bottle with a pump. A foundation pump is essential in my book. The pump (which twists open and closed) makes it easy to disperse and measure. One pump provides enough foundation for medium to full, buildable coverage that is lightweight and leaves a long-lasting soft, natural matte finish on my skin. I say natural matte, as the finish is not a dull flat matte that enhances dry or oily skin like many matte foundations do. This foundation leaves my skin with the perfect natural matte look.

As the name says, it also does the job of three products. The formula contains a built-in primer, concealer and foundation with sunscreen in one. The primer helps the foundation glide on smoothly over skin and sets it in place. The concealer hides imperfections easily, as the foundation smoothes over fine lines, hides pores and diffuses light to create a beautiful, even look to the skin.

My favorite part about the foundation is the lasting power. Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation goes on and looks beautiful on my skin first thing in the morning and lasts, looking perfectly set all day long. Take a look at me around 9:00 AM when I first applied the foundation and then again around 5:00 P.M. after a long busy day.

I used no powder over my makeup, and while some of my makeup on my eyes and cheeks have faded, my foundation still looks as good as it did when I first applied it. I should note that even after a late night out, my foundation was still looking good when I went to take it off around 11:30 that same night. It doesn't get better than that.

After experimenting with different application methods, I like applying the foundation with my Beauty Blender sponge and dotting with my fingertips on spots where I need more coverage. If you don't have a sponge, fingertips alone do a great job, better than a brush in my opinion. Just be sure to start in the center of your face and press the foundation into your skin and gently blend it out.

COVERGIRL has you covered in a variety of 14 shades to match a great range of skin tones. From lightest to darkest, they are:

IvoryClassic IvoryCreamy NaturalBuff BeigeNude BeigeMedium BeigeNatural BeigeWarm BeigeCreamy BeigeSoft HoneyGolden TanCleassic TanTawnySoft Sable

I am using the shade 832 named Nude Beige, and it is a great match for my skin tone. It actually looks darker in the bottle than it does on my skin. I know it is sometimes tricky to find a shade in the drugstore, so keep in mind that I have found that the colors are actually about a shade lighter than they look in the bottle.

COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation retails for about $9.99 at your favorite drugstore or mass retailer.
