Try out this healthy recipe or others like it at hamiltonbeach.com:
Pour pomegranate juice into blender first; then add remaining ingredients. Pulse and blend away until blended smooth. Serve!
Skip the worries and hassle of messy blender cleanup and opt for a low-maintenance, personal blending machine. Designed with complete simplicity at top of mind, its jar and lid are dishwasher safe, making cleanup quick, easy and super-efficient.
Before blending, always remember to put liquids and/or soft items in FIRST; then add frozen items and ice after. Do not chop or process foods such as cheese, crackers or meat, or hot food or liquids, as this will stick to blades or sides of jar. If blending action stops during blending or ingredients stick to the sides of the jar, turn blender OFF. Remove lid and use rubber spatula to push mixture toward blades if needed. Also, remember to wipe blender base, control panel and cord with a damp cloth or sponge.

Word of mouth led us to our perfect, carry-anywhere tote. Utterly logo- and hardware-free, there's nothing to distract from the supple Argentinian leather and beautiful proportions. Obviously, brown, black or navy will be wardrobe workhorses for years to come, but we have our eye on the slightly-less-safe powder pink. After all, when you're carrying something this well-made, you want it to get noticed! (At $150 each with part of profits donated to clean water, these carryalls are a wise — and generous — investment.)

You can almost hear the collective unhooking and sighs of relief spreading around the world as women find out bras don’t benefit their breasts—and may actually be harmful! That’s according to a French professor who studied breasts for 15 years (tough job for him, I’m sure.)
“Medically, physiologically, anatomically, the breast does not benefit from being deprived of gravity,” said the study’s Jean-Denis Rouillon, a professor at the University of Franche-Comté in Besançon.
Starting in 1997, Rouillon measured and examined the breasts of 330 women between the ages of 18 and 35, studying the effects of living with and without a bra. The findings, released Wednesday, suggest that women who did not use bras developed more muscle tissue to support the breasts, and had less sagging, perkier nipples, and faded stretch marks. The restrictive material in a bra actually prevents muscle tissue from growing, which may accelerate sagging. Some of the women even said not wearing a bra helped ease back pain.
Sounds like women have finally been given the freedom to go braless? Well, don’t organize a bra burning just yet. Despite the findings, Rouillon said it would be dangerous to advise all women to take off their bras. The women in his study may not be representative of the population—sounds like he spent time with a lot more A cups than double D’s—and if you’ve already worn a bra for several decades, it’s too late to stop now. If pre-teen girls never started wearing bras, maybe the over-the-shoulder boulder-holders would become obsolete, but their parents might not be so keen on that idea.
Bummer. But seriously, could you see yourself going to work without a bra? Taking your kids to the playground? Being judged by other women and ogled by men as you go for your morning jog? Especially us ladies with ample bosoms—we could end up with a black eye!
What do you think? Would you be brave enough to go braless?

BLACK DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RINGS
When Mr. Big wanted to make sure that Carrie wouldn’t forget her vows in Sex and the City 2, he chose a large black diamond engagement ring with chunky facets—and launched a major bridal jewelry trend. “For someone who wants non-traditional sparkle, black diamonds can be a perfect fit,” says Christina Gambale, co-owner of Greenwich Jewelers in New York City. “Some women also choose white diamond center gems, but opt for black in the pave or surrounding gems, or choose a wedding band made of black diamonds for just a bit of edge.”
SAPPHIRE ENGAGEMENT RINGS
What do Penelope Cruz, Elizabeth Hurley and The Duchess of Cambridge have in common? Each woman has worn a sapphire stunner on her ring finger. “Sapphires have always been a favorite when it comes to engagement rings,” reveals Gambale. “They’re one of the most durable gemstones and come in many colors, from the traditional deep blue to periwinkle, yellow, purple and pink.”
RAW DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RINGS
The trend in organic, earthy-luxe jewelry has had a big impact on the engagement ring market, says Gambale. “Many of our customers love the look of raw diamonds, which come in an array of colors and shapes, including ‘slices.’ Choosing this type of diamond makes your engagement ring unique while enjoying the tradition of having a diamond.”
WHITE TOPAZ ENGAGEMENT RINGS
Like the look of large, almost cocktail-sized stones? Consider a white topaz center stone, suggests Gambale. “It’s a popular choice for customers who want a bigger look for less than the price of a diamond.”
RUBY ENGAGEMENT RINGS
Jessica Simpson’s rock is a deep red ruby with pear-shaped diamond side stones. And she’s in good company: Mark Zuckerberg’s new wife, Priscilla Chan, wears one too. Before you take the plunge, try to see different kinds of rubies in person since their appearance varies widely; some are heat-treated to have a clearer finish and deeper color, while other rubies are admired for their imperfections.
EMERALD ENGAGEMENT RINGS
Oliver Martinez made news with the gorgeous emerald engagement ring he designed for fiancée Halle Berry. If you’re considering going the same route, it’s smart to protect the stone by setting it in a bezel, as Martinez did. “Emeralds are not as durable as a ruby, diamond, or sapphire, and a bezel setting wraps all the way around the gem and holds it securely in place,” explains Gambale.
STACKING ENGAGEMENT RINGS
“We're finding that women are looking for something to make their engagement ring unique, and stacking rings are a great option,” says Gambale. “Some women are opting for diamond eternity bands instead of a traditional engagement ring, and they create stacks of rings with each anniversary, while others start out mixing diamond and colored stone bands in different styles.”
MOISSANITE ENGAGEMENT RINGS
“Moissanites are man-made synthetic gemstones, so they may not be the best choice for everyone,” notes Gambale. “But they can be a great alternative to a diamond for someone who wants the brilliance and fire that a diamond has.” Expect to pay more for one than you would for a cubic zirconia, which will usually be less sparkly and durable than a moissanite.

Wedding jitters can wreak havoc on your under-eye area. But appearing well-rested and confident on your big day is a must. Leading up to the wedding day, try to get lots of sleep and stay hydrated, recommends Ellis Faas, a makeup artist and founder of an eponymous beauty line.
On the day off, Moore recommends a cold compress before layering on makeup. "Chill tea bags in the freezer and apply in the morning, or use a topical eye product with caffeine," she suggests. Opt for gel-based products and avoid heavy creams, which can make the rest of your eye makeup rub off.

Those of us who remember walking around school with flannel shirts tied around our waists, singing along to Nirvana on our Discmans, might find it mind-blowing, but it's true: The grunge look is back.
Want incontrovertible evidence? Khloe Kardashian Instagrammed a picture of herself on Wednesday in which she's tied a plaid shirt around her waist and is rocking work boots in place of Giuseppe Zanottis. But she's not the only family member trying the trend. Older sister Kim also recently circled a flannel shirt around her (rapidly growing) middle, while baby sis Kylie wore what might just be the very same flannel as Khloe's when heading to a Rihanna concert earlier in the month.
Don't think this revival stops with celebs. Online emporium Nasty Gal, for example, is bringing the trend to the masses, hawking items like the (aptly named) 'No Way' top, a red plaid concoction with crisscross vegan leather straps in the back that "looks rad paired with cutoffs and combat boots." So grab an old flannel and come as you are — or as you were in junior high school.

You may be frantically focusing on seating charts and save-the-dates – but as the clock ticks down towards the big day there’s no need to stress about how to make your skin a priority. Celebrity esthetician Renée Rouleau shares her easy timeline for getting skin glowing and spot free for your walk down the aisle.
Six Months Before: Start A Good Cleansing Program
“Six months is the perfect amount of time to ensure that your skin is clear, smooth and glowing for the big day,” explains Rouleau, who recommends following a gentle, non-drying, sulfate-free cleanser with an alcohol-free toner and moisturizer as part of a daily regimen.
For an added boost, start to incorporate skin serums. “When used under moisturizer they are able to penetrate deep within the skin for maximum performance and results,” says Rouleau.
Three Months Before: Up Your Antioxidant Intake
Forget the clichés—a beautiful complexion is anything but skin deep. Gorgeous skin actually starts on the inside, so Rouleau recommends adding beauty-boosting power foods a few months before your walk down the aisle. Berries, for example, are loaded with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that slow the aging process. Dark skinned grapes boast more than 20 age-defying antioxidants. Anti-aging citrus fruits and cantaloupe contain skin-enhancing vitamins.
One Week Before: Prevent Blemishes
As stress increases, so does the chance for breakouts. To keep skin clog-free, exfoliation is key. “This will keep off dry skin cells to lessen clogged pores and blemishes and help fade post-breakout scars,” explains Rouleau, who recommends products with exfoliating acids and enzymes.
Counteract bacteria with products that include salicylic acid and tea tree--and don’t forget to hydrate. “If you’re prone to blemishes, your skin needs water-based moisture to keep cells healthy to discourage dead skin cell buildup,” she says.
One Day Before: Exfoliate, Hydrate and Get Your Beauty Sleep!
“Using a mild exfoliant the day before your wedding will ensure that new, healthy cells are on the surface and makeup will go on silky smooth,” says Rouleau, who also recommends using a gel mask post-exfoliation to boost hydration. “They calm the skin from wedding-day nerves, and give your skin a smooth, healthy glow.”
And don’t forget to get a good night’s rest. “Sleep is not only important to keep dark circles at bay, but it is also the time when your body is most metabolically active, ridding itself of toxins which would otherwise wreak havoc with your skin,” she says. “Sleep also reduces stress, the number one aggravator of acne!”
The Day Of: De-puff and Control Shine
When your big day finally arrives, cruise through it radiantly by controlling shine and keeping puffiness to a minimum. “The simplest, fastest, no-fuss way to manage shine and wedding day perspiration is to blot--not wipe--the skin with tissue,” says Rouleau. “This will instantly absorb oil and moisture to keep the skin looking matte.”
And if you wake up feeling puffy, head to the fridge. “When nerves are at their highest, it can cause increased blood flow to the skin,” says Rouleau, who recommends keeping skincare products cooled. “Cleansing, toning and moisturizing with cool temperature products keep the skin calm and soothed.”

Those antiquated ‘50s books on wedding etiquette never saw the 2013 wedding landscape coming. Whose family, for example, pays for a same-sex couple’s wedding? What role does the couple’s children (human or furry) play in the wedding? And which stepparents participate? These are all among the questions facing many modern couples. Read on for experts’ takes on how to navigate these topics and more.
FOR COUPLES WITH KIDS
First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage, right? Not anymore. These days the marrying couple may already share children, or one or the other partner may bring children the marriage. Is it appropriate to involve them in the big day? Of course! “It's totally appropriate to incorporate your kids,” says Xochitl Gonzalez of the planning company AAB Creates. “A lot of people will have family rings made up, and include the kids in the vows. I've even had one couple all get up together for a family dance that was a scheduled part of the event.”
The Bridal Bar’s Harmony Walton adds, “If there are children in the family now, be sure to honor and include them. Becoming a stepparent is part of what you’re signing up for, so show them you care by empowering them on the wedding day. Depending on age, they could participate in the ceremony through a family blessing, they could play the role of flower girl or ring bearer, or even play a song if they are learning an instrument in school, or do a reading. It’s important they don’t feel left out regardless of what role you give them.”
FOR SAME-SEX COUPLES
Tradition dictates that the bride’s family picks up the tab for the wedding — but what if there are two brides, or none? Bernadette Coveney Smith of 14 Stories, which specializes in same-sex weddings, says that 67 percent of such couples pay for their own weddings — but that the issue still comes up regularly. “Generally, it all boils down to the relationship that each partner has with his or her family,” she says. “If both partners have good relationships with their parents, and both sets of parents have means to support the wedding, then both partners will generally ask for help. If only one family is emotionally supportive, then chances are, they'll be the only ones financially supportive as well.”
Speaking of emotional support for same-sex couples, should you have to invite family members who haven’t provided any? The short answer, according to Coveney Smith, is no. “Same-sex couples should only invite guests to their wedding who love them and support their equal right to marry. The wedding is not the time to engage in a political debate, nor should a couple have to stress about what non-supportive folks will think, do or say at the wedding.”
She also suggests same-sex couples who have been together for quite a while — and already have, say, a kitchen full of gadgets — consider registering for a charity like Marriage Equality or Human Rights Campaign. “Many, like these, let you create a custom Web page where guests can donate specifically on behalf of your wedding, and then the charity will send you the list of donors so you can thank them. If you're not into that, consider registering for a honeymoon. Honeyfund is one of the most popular LGBT-friendly honeymoon registries. If that's not your thing, consider registering for experiential and unique gifts like those found through Newlywish, a thoughtfully curated online registry that allows you to register for things like cooking lessons and dance classes, in addition to supporting local merchants who provide one-of-a kind products.”
FOR COUPLES WITH DIVORCED PARENTS
With the divorce rate being what it is, chances are not great that each partner will come into a wedding with a set of parents in intact marriages. Instead, stepparents are very much a part of the consideration. How to deal? “Stepparents should play as large of a role in the wedding as the couple wants them to. It’s important to include them, but how much depends on each family dynamic,” Walton says. “Typically, if the families get along, they would sit in the front row of the ceremony next to their spouse. You can always put other family members in between the two parents. If that’s not comfortable, then ask the father and his spouse to sit second or third row while mom and her spouse sit in the front row.”
Walton suggests that, if her father is escorting the bride and there is a stepmother in the picture, she should have been escorted to her seat previously by an usher. If the bride is equally close to both a father and a stepfather, she could walk down the aisle with both, though typically the father of the bride would be the sole escort.
Couples could also include stepparents in the ceremony by asking them to do a reading or participate in the program, if it’s important to include them in some small way, Walton suggests. And at the reception, invite stepparents to do toasts if you’re inclined.
AAB Creates’ Gonzalez adds, “We've had brides dance with both their dad and their stepdads or have their step dad take them down the aisle should they not be close with their own father. We've had up to eight parents and stepparents under a chuppah once. It was great!”
FOR SECOND (OR THIRD, OR FOURTH...) MARRIAGES
The key is that any wedding after the first should be very different. “It would be in poor taste to wear the same dress or wed at the same location,” Walton says. “But some traditions still apply. You should still register for gifts — friends will want to purchase something so make it easy for them and get the items you want. If you already have everything you could ask for or this feels awkward to you, register with a nonprofit organization like the Rescue Train’s Gift of Love program and ask your guests to give back instead.”
She adds, “Don’t feel like you can’t celebrate! If your closest friends want to throw you a bridal shower, let them. Typically, smaller and more casual bridal showers are held for second weddings but it’s still okay to have one — only invite those invited to the wedding.”
FOR PET PARENTS
Pets are family too! Consider including your dog — cats may not be so eager to cooperate, but you can try — into the ceremony as flower girl or ring bearer. “You can dress them up in formal attire or flowers, have them carry an item around their neck or simply go au natural down the aisle,” Walton advises. “Then send them on their way before the reception starts.”
Try including pets in your engagement photos if your wedding is in a venue that doesn’t allow for pets, or if your type of animal can’t be there to support you. Or try creating silhouettes of your four-legged pals for use as great table numbers or even stamps on your wedding invitations.
